2.4.4 Ink Ribbon Feed Mechanism

The ink ribbon feed mechanism comprises of the ribbon cartridge, the carriage motor, and the gear train. The gear

train transmits the rotation of the carriage motor to the bevel gear. the ribbon is contained in the ribbon cartridge

and tied into an endless loop. When the bevel gear turns the ribbon feed roller, the ink ribbon sandwiched between the ribbon

feed roller and the ribbon pressure roller is wound up. The ribbon brake spring keeps slack out of the ribbon.
